PMO Finance Officer – Bilingual (FR/NL) – ALTEN Belgium
The Role
As part of its continuous growth, ALTEN Belgium is looking for a PMO Finance Officer to strengthen our team and contribute to major infrastructure projects within the railway sector.
The Signalling Projects Department is responsible for the management and study of highly strategic projects, including ETCS systems, interlocking, new track circuits, level crossings, and other signaling solutions. Within this context, the Program Management Unit ensures the smooth execution of both the Masterplan and Post-Masterplan ETCS, while coordinating critical maintenance and organizational projects.
As a PMO Finance Officer, your main responsibilities will be:
* Preparing annual budgets, revisions (reforecast), and multi-year plans, and ensuring compliance with these plans
* Supporting Project and Program Managers in establishing and monitoring financial exercises
* Analyzing costs in the accounting system and identifying variances compared to budget estimates
* Collecting and managing data related to budgets, investment costs, and project deliverables
* Updating reports and interacting with stakeholders (Project Managers, Program Managers, and Management)
* Actively contributing to knowledge transfer and experience sharing within the department
* Supporting the standardization and improvement of work methods, processes, and tools used by PMO Finance Officers
* Operating effectively in a bilingual environment
Your Profile
* Master’s degree in Management Sciences, Economics, Business Engineering, or equivalent
* 5–9 years of professional experience in a similar position (Medior level)
* Strong analytical skills and experience in budget management
* Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to quickly learn new tools
* Experience working with SAP and navigating complex structures
* Fluent in French and Dutch (written and spoken); English is a plus
Assets (nice-to-have):
* Experience in Power BI reporting
* Experience with asset inventory management
* Professional background in the railway sector
