Overview
KEMIN ANIMAL NUTRITION AND HEALTH – EMENA is searching Automation Engineer to join our team in Herentals, Belgium.
As a member of the Kemin Application Solutions (KAS) team, the Automation Engineer plays a key role in developing and maintaining automated dosing systems that enhance product application for Kemin customers. This position focuses on software development and continuous improvement of applicator efficiency, safety, reliability, and quality.

Responsibilities
Software Development & Workshop Support
1. Design and develop innovative software solutions (PLC, HMI, SCADA) to optimize applicator performance.
2. Maintain and update systems and programs, including version control.
3. Monitor application software performance and implement improvements.
4. Assist in manufacturing and functional testing of applicators prior to shipment.
5. Contribute to the creation of P&IDs, electrical drawings, user manuals, test protocols, and installation guides.
6. Support internal training and development of KAS team members.
7. Promote a collaborative team environment and provide assistance to colleagues as needed.
Customer-Focused Activities
8. Integrate application technology into customer processing systems.
9. Train customers on installed applicators and provide ongoing technical support.
10. Troubleshoot and repair application systems on-site or remotely via phone, email, or remote access tools.
11. Maintain customer records and interactions using CMMS software.
12. Gather customer feedback to inform product and service improvements.
13. Monitor and report competitor activities in the market.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
14. Research and implement technical, economic, and software enhancements based on customer feedback.
15. Monitor system performance and apply upgrades for improved functionality.
16. Participate in the development of new dosing systems and special-purpose applications.
17. Recommend and evaluate instrumentation specifications for projects.
18. Ensure high product quality through the design of test procedures and risk assessments.
19. Conduct and document quality control checks on goods and materials.
Qualifications
20. A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Automation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
21. A strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in automation technologies.

29. Fluency in English is required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
While not mandatory, the following skills will set you apart:
30. Proficiency in TIA-Portal & WinCC Professional, JavaScript, HTML, VBS, C, SQL Server, and industrial communication protocols.
31. Prior experience in plant automation, feed mill process technology, or liquid dosing systems.
32. Strong analytical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
