IT Project Manager – Architecture & Governance -HybridContext-General is strengthening its Enterprise Architecture governance to ensure coherence, interoperability and alignment of digital initiatives with the European Commission's IT strategy and architecture standards.
Role Overview: The role focused on end-to-end project management of architecture-related initiatives, ensuring coordination, planning, and delivery across teams.Rather than contributing to architecture design, the position ensured that architectural topics were well-governed, aligned, and executed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Led and managed architecture-related projects and governance initiatives from planning to delivery
- Defined scope, timelines, priorities, and deliverables for architecture streams
- Established and managed an Architecture Board (agenda, planning, decision tracking, follow-up)
- Coordinated stakeholders across multiple teams, ensuring alignment and progress
- Monitored project milestones, risks, dependencies, and budget (if applicable)
- Ensured clear reporting and communication towards leadership and key stakeholders
- Drove standardization of processes, tools, and ways of working across architectural teams
- Identified bottlenecks and ensured timely escalation and resolution
Requirements:
Profile- Experience as an IT Project Manager / PMO / Delivery Manager
- Previous exposure to IT Architecture (Solution / Application / Enterprise)
- Strong ability to drive planning, execution, and follow-up across complex environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple streams and ensure delivery under tight timelines
- Structured, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
Nice to Have- First experience setting up or managing governance structures
- Experience in transformation or multi-team environments
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models
