Job Description
The Global Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in maintaining operational and project-related activities across the organization. This involves upholding defined IT standards at all global locations, encompassing data centers, remote sites, cloud solutions, servers, storage, backup operations, and disaster recovery solutions.
This position requires an individual with excellent communication, problem-solving, change management, and systems administration skills to ensure high-quality operations. Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring adherence to defined IT service management processes, including change management, incident management, problem management, service level management, knowledge management, and request fulfillment processes.
* Collaborating with IT staff, service providers, and end-users to support and maintain the organization's complex infrastructure.
* Providing level 2 or 3 support for any global core infrastructure issue, in line with defined SLAs and OLAs, and escalating unresolved critical/high-priority incidents to other team members.
* Scheduled on-call rotations, responding promptly (within SLA) and troubleshooting incidents outside of regular working hours.
* Ensuring the uptime, resiliency, and performance of all core infrastructure, with a focus on ERP systems, including Oracle JD Edwards.
* Helping manage, optimize, and plan capacity for the organization's entire core ERP infrastructure, including storage environments.
* Maintaining published documentation for technical procedures, policies, and standard processes related to core infrastructure.
* Collaborating with project teams, providing technical expertise, and executing activities while communicating status accordingly.
* Staying informed about industry standards and best practices, making recommendations for inclusion in the technology roadmap.
* Implementing, administering, and monitoring security solutions, standards, and policies in accordance with the organization's Information Security Framework.
