Position Profile
The Commercial Director plays a central role within the organization, leading and executing all commercial activities in Belgium and Luxembourg. You will lead a team of 13 FTEs in Belgium and hold full responsibility for the further development and implementation of the sales strategy for an international trading company in the handicraft industry.
You combine a strong strategic mindset with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. While defining and steering the long-term sales strategy, you remain closely involved in daily operations, driving key account management, initiating and supporting the acquisition of new trading partners, and ensuring that defined initiatives are effectively implemented and followed through.
With a strong focus on results, you inspire and guide the sales team to achieve sustainable growth and increased market share. You actively monitor customer feedback and market developments, translating insights into concrete actions.
In close collaboration with sales, inside sales, marketing, product management, and the project management office, you contribute to continuous improvement while actively shaping and optimizing commercial processes. You take ownership of initiatives, ensure execution, and measure their impact.
As Commercial Director, you are the driving force behind growth, innovation, and strong customer relationships. You demonstrate a high level of initiative and accountability, proactively identifying opportunities and translating strategy into tangible results. Your hands-on leadership and ability to motivate others are key to achieving sustainable success.
Responsibilities
* Hold full responsibility for the subsidiary’s P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in alignment with Group targets
* Drive sustainable growth by steering the sales organization (field & office) and strengthening market positioning across two segments
* Enabling and empowering your team trough a motivational and people oriented managementstyle
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners while actively managing existing accounts
* Ensure continuous market analysis (trends, customer needs, competition) and translate insights into actionable business initiatives
* Directly report to the CEO
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a commercial field / economic background
* Several years of relevant work experience in a commercial role
* A coaching and motivational leadership style
* Self-reflection & motivation to learn and grow
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* A relevant network in technical wholesale and DIY is a plus
* Strong language skills in Dutch, French and English
