The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is looking for a Junior EU Advocacy Officer to join our team in Brussels.
This is a 12-Months Renewable Contract

The EBU is the world's leading alliance of public service media. We champion high-quality, independent media and work closely with our Members, partners, and European institutions to safeguard a vibrant, diverse and resilient media ecosystem. Our Brussels office is instrumental in shaping the regulatory and policy framework that enables public service media to thrive.
*ABOUT THE LEGAL & POLICY DEPARTMENT*
The Legal and Policy Department drives the EBU's efforts to secure the most enabling legal and regulatory environment for public service media at international, EU and national levels.
Our Brussels office manages the EBU's strategic engagement with EU institutions and key stakeholders. Working hand-in-hand with our Geneva-based legal team, we lead advocacy initiatives across a wide spectrum of EU policy files and represent the interests of our Members in a fast-evolving political landscape.
*PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION*
In this role, you will help shape and deliver advocacy campaigns that bring public service media perspectives to the heart of EU policymaking. You will:
* Contribute to the development and execution of impactful and timely advocacy strategies on EU initiatives relevant to public service media.
* Represent the EBU in key meetings, events, and public fora, clearly articulating our positions.
* Monitor EU policy developments, undertake stakeholder mapping, and support coordination with partners and alliances.
* Build and maintain relationships with EU institutions, civil society, industry partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
* Report regularly to EBU colleagues and Members on advocacy activities and evolving policy trends.
* Work seamlessly with colleagues across the department and the broader EBU network.
*YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES*
We are seeking a motivated, service-oriented professional ready to accelerate their career in EU advocacy. You bring:
* At least 1 year of professional experience in EU affairs or advocacy.
* Solid understanding of EU institutions, policymaking processes and key policy files.
* Strong advocacy, networking and public-speaking capabilities.
* Proven interest and experience in developing EU policy and advocacy campaigns.
* Experience working in or with EU institutions is an advantage.
* Ability to distill complex policy topics into clear, compelling messages.
* Excellent organisational skills, stakeholder coordination capabilities, and a collaborative mindset.
* Knowledge of media and digital policy is a strong asset.
* Self-driven, strategic, and committed to delivering outcomes with impact.
LANGUAGE - Proficient English
is essential. and knowledge of
French
and other European languages is an asset.
EDUCATION - Master's degree required

* Media policy, digital regulation, copyright, platform governance
* Public speaking or campaigning experience
