The Brussels Office of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) is seeking to hire a Project and Social Media Manager for its global channels to start as soon as possible. This is an 80% part time position (30,4 hours per week), initially fixed-term until 31 December 2028, with the possibility of extension. The place of work is Brussels, the position cannot be performed remotely.

About The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung

The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation is a major publicly funded organization from the Federal Republic of Germany, tasked primarily with conducting political education. The foundation is closely linked to Die Linke, a democratic socialist party. It stands in the tradition of the socialist workers' movements, as well as anti-fascism, anti-racism, feminism, environmentalism and internationalism. The foundation promotes a critical analysis of society and fosters networks of emancipatory political, social, and cultural initiatives, it advocates for a dialogue between the Global North and South conducted on equal footing. RLS maintains 26 offices worldwide, one of them is located in Brussels.

Tasks And Responsibilities

The Social Media Manager is responsible for the strategic development, editorial management, and day-to-day production of social media content for the English-language channels of the RLS, including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, and other microblogging platforms. Working closely with the lead editor of the international website ), the Political Communication Department at RLS headquarters in Berlin, and colleagues in RLS offices worldwide, the position combines strategic communication, editorial work, project management, and administrative responsibilities. Content production is closely aligned with the foundation's political priorities and international programme work, covering topics such as international politics, socialist strategies, trade union politics, social justice struggles, socio-ecological transformation, feminism and historical analysis.

Key Tasks Include

Creating audiovisual content for RLS social media channels (@rosaluxglobal), in coordination with the lead editor of the RLS global website ) and the Political Communication Department at RLS headquarters (specifically its multimedia team);
Maintaining, moderating, and further developing the foundation's English-language social media presences;
Participating in regular coordination meetings (online, twice a week) with the Political Communication Department's multimedia team to align content production for the English- and German-language social media channels;
Analyzing and evaluating usage data from the website and social media platforms in accordance with RLS requirements;
Project management and documentation in the field of international public relations, in cooperation with the responsible lead editor;
Monitoring and managing the annual budget and financial flows for the foundation's international communications;
Developing and issuing public tenders and programme applications in line with the regulations set by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ);
Preparing contractual agreements for individual projects with external partners in accordance with BMZ rules.

Necessary Qualifications

You demonstrate a high level of commitment and willingness to learn new skills. You enjoy working in an international environment, communicating with members of parliament, academics, civil society organizations and activists from around the world. Required qualifications and skills include:

Bachelor's degree in the humanities, social sciences, communication studies, or a related field;
A strong interest in socialist and left-wing politics, strategies, and history; familiarity with current left-oriented debates in these fields is highly desirable;
Identification with the values and the mission of the RLS;
Excellent command of both English and German is a requirement; good knowledge of Spanish, French or other languages is an advantage;
Proven knowledge and practical experience in social media work;
Editorial and writing experience in political and institutional contexts;
High level of familiarity with standard business software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, accounting and project accounting software, communication programmes), and a willingness to familiarize yourself with new digital tools;
Knowledge and practical experience in project management within non-profit, social movement, and government or institutional contexts;
Knowledge and practical experience with public tenders and procurement procedures;
Editorial and writing experience in political and institutional contexts;
Strong intercultural competencies and experience working in international environments;
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
