We are currently partnering with a fast-growing consulting firm specializing in the insurance industry to recruit a Senior Operational Risk Consultant. Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Operational Risk Consultant, you will:
* Advise insurance clients on operational risk frameworks, governance models, and control environments (including Solvency II, COSO, ISO 31000, etc.)
* Lead and deliver operational risk assessments, RCSAs, scenario analyses, and control design initiatives
* Support clients in areas such as third-party risk, outsourcing risk, business continuity, and operational resilience
* Translate regulatory requirements into pragmatic and business-oriented solutions
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Internal Audit functions
* Drive organizational change initiatives to ensure effective implementation of risk practices
* Promote a strong risk culture by coaching and supporting client teams on operational risk best practices
* Mentor junior consultants and contribute to methodology development and thought leadership initiatives
Your Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
* 8+ years of experience in operational risk management within insurance or consulting
* Strong knowledge of operational risk and governance frameworks such as Solvency II, COSO, and ISO 31000
* Familiarity with IT risk frameworks (NIST, CyFun, or similar) and GRC methodologies/tools is considered a strong advantage
* Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and executive management
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* A pragmatic, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to simplify complex risk topics
* Professional fluency in English and either Dutch or French
* A genuine interest in and passion for the insurance sector
