For our client in Brussels, we are looking for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer.
Mission
In this role, you will work on challenging infrastructure projects by conducting geotechnical studies, providing technical support on-site, and preparing specifications. Your expertise will ensure that the infrastructure being built or modified not only meets client requirements but also complies with current standards and specifications.
As a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer, You Will
* Conduct studies on geotechnical structures such as foundations, retaining structures, special techniques, embankments, excavations, and ground improvement.
* Guide CAD designers in creating detailed plans and designs.
* Contribute to project planning and phasing to ensure efficient execution.
* Analyze and develop feasible solutions to problems, considering budget, timing, and practicality.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers (soil mechanics, hydraulics, rail, overhead lines, signaling) to ensure project integration and cohesion.
* Prepare technical specifications and provide technical support to on-site teams.
* Report to the relevant parties on project progress and outcomes.
Profile
You Have
* 5 to 15 years in a similar role within geotechnics or civil engineering.
* A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnics.
* You are fluent in French or Dutch with a good knowledge of the other national language.
* In-depth knowledge of geotechnical principles, experience in guiding CAD designers, and strong analytical skills to solve problems within budget and time constraints.
