Quality Engineer – International Manufacturing Environment (Belgium, Turnhout Region)
We are conducting an exclusive search for an international, growing company in B2B manufacturing with a strong heritage, a clear long-term vision, and a leading role in its sector. The business combines global reach with the hands-on mindset and agility of a local operation.
We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Quality Team at their largest European production site in the Turnhout region.
As Quality Engineer, you are driven by a passion for quality and process improvement: always looking for ways to work smarter, improve outcomes, and introduce more creativity, agility, and customer value.
By maintaining a strong presence on the production floor, you build trust, gain buy-in, and raise quality awareness across all levels of the organization. You are not only a problem-solver, but a connector between departments, customers, and suppliers — translating customer specifications into actionable and sustainable production processes.
Your Key Responsibilities
* You analyze customer specifications and translate them into clear Product Quality Plans and operational procedures.
* You initiate and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) following internal non-conformities or customer complaints.
* You perform trend analysis on QA KPIs to detect root causes and identify areas for improvement.
* You proactively look for opportunities to optimize processes and introduce technical innovations, in collaboration with R&D.
* You lead or support Kaizen initiatives and other continuous improvement projects on the shop floor.
* You provide training and coaching to colleagues on quality tools, procedures, and the overall quality mindset.
* You act as a liaison between production, supply chain, sales, and suppliers to ensure alignment and quality consistency across the full value chain.
* You assist in the validation and qualification of new machines and processes to ensure production readiness.
* You contribute to making the production process smarter, leaner, and more robust — always with the customer in mind.
* You build trust through regular presence on the production floor, raising awareness and support for quality initiatives.
* You report directly to the Quality Director and work cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
The Profile:
You are a hands-on quality professional with a sharp analytical mind and a strong sense of ownership. You’re not just passionate about improvement — you make it happen. Whether it’s digging into a root cause, guiding a process review, or collaborating on the shop floor, you bring energy, structure, and results.
You combine curiosity and clarity: always eager to understand the ‘why’ behind issues, while staying focused on practical, data-driven solutions. You communicate confidently across levels — from operators to management — and naturally connect people across the supply chain to drive alignment and action.
What you bring:
* A technical degree (Engineering or equivalent)
* Experience in quality or process engineering within a production environment
* Strong familiarity with quality and improvement tools (e.g. FMEA, SPC, 5 Whys, Kaizen, HACCP...)
* A hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented attitude
* The ability to analyze, structure, and act quickly without overcomplicating
* Strong communication skills — both at the shop floor and management level
* A sense of purpose, ownership, and determination — you move things forward and take others with you
* Curiosity, energy, and a mindset of continuous learning and collaboration
* Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory.
