The T&I team is part of the engineering department of the Portable Air Division. The team plays an important role in the long term development of our products, being mobile compressors and breakers.
The mission of the T&I department is to collect relevant technology knowledge and to hand over qualified building blocks to the D&D department and Proof of Concepts to marketing to allow a shorter and more reliable product development cycle.
In this team, we currently have a vacancy for a Senior Designer. You will report to the Team coach compressors. You will facilitate the practical realization of the building blocks and the Proof-of-Concepts in the T&I department
The role
* make design proposals, creating conceptual layouts in 3D; creating 2D technical drawings with tolerances
* collaborate and coordinate with an English-language design agency (Gecia). Set targets, deadlines & follow up accordingly
* develop functional specifications for the various components
* preparation and release of parts lists of the chosen design
* discussions with suppliers for the selection of parts / technical applications
* ordering prototype parts
* follow-up of prototype building together with the project owners and processing of feedback
* safeguard existing and newly acquired knowledge in PACT (Sharepoint - Portable Air Competence & Training)
To succeed, you will need
Knowledge
* Experience in a product development/lab environment in the machine building sector as designer is an advantage
* You have experience in the 3D design & 2D annotations of industrial products via CAD systems. Experience in Creo is a advantage, knowledge of Windchill is a plus.
* You have or are prepared to acquire a thorough knowledge of (mobile) compressors and their subsystems
* You have a hands-on approach
* You have as well mechanical as electrical skills
* You have an interest in alternative drivetrains for diesel driven compressors and their controls
* You have knowledge of the standard Office IT tools
* You master the English language
Educational requirements
* You have a bachelor or a master degree in (electro-mechanical) engineering or equivalent through experience
