YOUR ROLE
As Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of Air Belgium’s fleet. Reporting directly to the Technical & Maintenance Director, you will oversee contracted maintenance activities, ensuring all service providers meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will lead the Maintenance Coordination Centre, Technical Representatives, Procurement and Logistics teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement to guarantee optimal aircraft availability and technical dispatch reliability.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
* Lead day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring the fleet meets technical dispatch reliability and on-time performance targets.
* Monitor and resolve aircraft defects efficiently, keeping MEL interval extensions to a minimum.
* Build strong collaboration with internal teams (Flight Operations, Safety, Compliance, Ground Operations) and external maintenance partners.
* Supervise contracted maintenance providers, ensuring service quality, regulatory compliance, and contract performance.
* Review maintenance costs and invoices, supporting the Technical Director with budgeting and cost-control measures.
* Participate in negotiations for line, base, and component maintenance contracts to secure quality service and competitive pricing.
* Lead and develop a high-performing team of Technical Representatives, Material Controllers, and Maintenance Control Centre Coordinators.
* Ensure clear objectives, regular performance reviews, and a strong focus on teamwork, service excellence, and accountability.
* Track and analyse maintenance KPIs (e.g., technical dispatch reliability, aircraft availability, MEL performance, and AOG recovery) to drive continuous improvement.
* Guarantee that all maintenance agreements and procedures meet contractual, regulatory, and quality standards.
* Manage special technical or operational projects as assigned by the Technical Director.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
* Certified professional in aircraft maintenance (EASA Part 66 or ICAO Type II).
* 5–8 years of experience in aviation Maintenance & Engineering, with proven leadership in a managed service environment.
* Strong knowledge of EASA regulations, maintenance contracts, and service level management.
* Skilled negotiator with solid financial and administrative acumen.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and collaboration across multicultural teams.
* Analytical, structured, and flexible, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver results.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an asset.
* Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with maintenance management systems.
