🎯 Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen a modern cloud-based data platform team and lead the development of a Common Data Model.
The mission focuses on building a single source of truth by integrating previously siloed data domains into a unified data platform on Azure Synapse.
You will play a key role in shaping the data integration layer and data product architecture, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
⚙️ Responsibilities
* Lead the evolution of the Common Data Model across multiple domains
* Design and implement data integration and standardization frameworks (3NF / Kimball)
* Build and optimize data pipelines and processing systems
* Analyze existing data models and identify optimization opportunities
* Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions
* Work closely with data engineers and data scientists on platform development
* Ensure scalability, performance, and data quality across the platform
* Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership
* Contribute to cost optimization (FinOps) and platform efficiency
🧠 Required Skills
Must-have
* 5+ years of experience in:
* Data architecture & data modeling
* Data governance and integration
* Proven experience designing Common Data Models
* Strong experience with:
* Azure Synapse Analytics
* PySpark / Spark (3.x)
* Azure Data Lake
* Azure Pipelines / CI/CD
* Experience with data lakehouse architectures (Delta)
* Experience migrating on-premise data platforms to cloud (Azure)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent stakeholder communication skills
Languages
* English required
* Dutch and/or French is a strong plus

* Experience in data product thinking
* Exposure to FinOps practices
* Experience in complex enterprise data environments
