PpLocation: Brussels, Belgiumbr/Reports To: Deputy Director, Greenpeace European Unit (EUU)br/Contract Type: Permanent, 80% or Full-Timebr/Contact for Questions: /ph3bRole Purpose /b /h3pWe are seeking a confident, well-roundedb Finance, People Office Manager /b to take charge of finance coordination, HR, and office operations at theb Greenpeace European Unit /b in Brussels. This is a solo but strategic role in a small nonprofit team, ideal for someone who thrives in a generalist position and has ab strong grasp of budgeting and financial oversight /b, alongside people operations and organisational logistics. /ppYou will work with a high level of autonomy and trust, and have a clear mandate to strengthen internal systems and processes. Financial Oversight Administration (Primary Focus) /b /h3ulliCoordinate the organisation’s financial operations in collaboration with the external accountant and financial controller /liliPrepare budgets and forecasts in support of strategic planning and reporting /liliOversee financial reporting for the Annual General Meeting and internal stakeholders /liliMonitor the office bank account and ensure timely invoice payments and expense tracking /liliSupport audit preparation and ensure compliance with Belgian nonprofit financial regulations /liliLiaise with external auditors and ensure timely submission of legal and financial documents /li /ulh3b2. People Culture (HR) Management /b /h3ulliManage day-to-day HR operations and serve as the primary contact for staff on HR matters /liliEnsure compliance with Belgian labour law, including contracts, benefits, and employment policies /liliCoordinate with the Social Secretariat for accurate payroll administration /liliLead recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes /liliPromote a positive, inclusive, and values-aligned workplace culture /liliEngage in respectful, constructive dialogue with staff union representatives /li /ulh3b3. Office Operations Management /b /h3ulliOversee the smooth running of the EUU office: facilities, supplies, and vendor relations /liliEnsure Health Safety compliance, including First Aid coordination and building policies /liliMaintain a functional and welcoming workspace /liliHandle general communications inbox and reception duties /liliEnsure compliance with administrative obligations under Belgian nonprofit law /li /ulh3b4. Process Systems Improvement /b /h3ulliAssess and improve internal systems and workflows across finance, HR, and operations /liliChampion user-friendly, digital tools that increase team efficiency and reduce admin burdens /liliSafeguard confidentiality and data integrity in all internal processes /li /ulh3bSkills Experience Required /b /h3ulliAt least 3 years’ experience in finance coordination, HR, or office management roles /liliStrong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and nonprofit finance practices /liliFamiliarity with Belgian labour law, nonprofit legal frameworks, and social dialogue practices /liliExperience working with trade unions or staff representation structures /liliStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to self-manage /liliExcellent interpersonal and communication skills /liliFull professional fluency in English (working language), and working proficiency in Dutch or French /liliComfortable with IT systems and digital tools for admin and HR/finance /liliExperience working in NGOs, international teams, or values-based organisations /liliTraining in inclusive HR practices, EDI, or organisational development /li /ulh3bWhat We Offer /b /h3ulliA meaningful, strategic role in a respected international environmental organisation /liliThe opportunity to shape internal culture and systems for greater impact /liliA friendly, purpose-driven team based in Brussels and connected across Europe /liliMonthly gross salary betweenb €4,262.6 and €5,353 (FTE) /b, depending on experience /liliExcellent NGO benefits: pension, health insurance, meal vouchers, public transport allowance, generous leave /li /ulh3bOur Values /b /h3pWe value courage, collaboration, equity, and integrity.
