Role SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on Digital Workplace Manager to lead and strengthen our workplace technology function. This role is a blend of people leadership, technical oversight, and senior-level contribution across Microsoft 365 and related Azure services.The right person will be comfortable managing a small team while still staying close to the technology. They will help set direction, mentor engineers, support escalations, improve service quality, and drive delivery across the Microsoft workplace stack.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam leadership and people managementLead a small Digital Workplace team responsible for Microsoft 365 and related workplace platformsProvide day-to-day direction, coaching, mentoring, and performance support for team membersAct as the main escalation point for complex operational and technical issuesHelp define team structure, role clarity, and ways of workingIdentify hiring needs and support recruitment, onboarding, and development of additional engineersTechnical leadershipProvide hands-on leadership across Microsoft 365 technologies such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID, and related servicesSupport solution design, technical decision-making, and engineering standards across the teamPartner with Azure-focused team members on integrations, identity, automation, security, and cloud-native servicesReview technical designs and changes to ensure scalability, supportability, and alignment with business needsStay close enough to the environment to troubleshoot major issues and guide senior technicians through complex workService ownership and deliveryOwn the health, stability, and continuous improvement of Digital Workplace servicesBalance operational support, project delivery, and longer-term modernization effortsWork with business and IT stakeholders to understand priorities and translate them into actionable plansEstablish and improve processes for support, change management, documentation, and service transitionsTrack delivery, risks, dependencies, and service issues, and communicate clearly to leadershipRequired Experience5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 technologies in engineering, administration, or architecture roles2+ years of team leadership, people management, or technical leadership experienceStrong practical knowledge of core Microsoft 365 services, especially:Exchange OnlineTeams SharePoint OnlineOneDrive Intune Entra IDExperience working with Azure AI FoundryUnderstanding of AI-driven workplace transformation, automation, and end-user enablement within Microsoft 365 environmentsExperience leading technical delivery in production environmentsExperience handling escalations, coordinating cross-team work, and improving service operationsExperience mentoring engineers and helping develop technical capability within a team Ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders Azure Knowledge ExpectedThe role does not need to be the deepest Azure engineer on the team, but the person should have solid working knowledge of Azure in areas such as:Azure identity and access conceptsAzure governance and resource organizationIntegration between Azure and Microsoft 365 servicesAutomation and cloud services relevant to workplace solutionsBasic understanding of Azure-native services used alongside M365 environmentsThey should be able to guide conversations, challenge designs, make informed decisions, and work effectively with senior Azure engineers.Nice to HaveExperience with Power Platform, Power Automate, or RPA-focused initiativesExperience with Microsoft security and compliance capabilities within M365Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, or workplace AI initiativesExperience with hybrid identity and legacy-to-cloud migration effortsExperience building or leading service improvement programsMicrosoft certifications related to M365, Azure, security, or modern workplace
