ELECTRO MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ANTWERP (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
The Electromechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting complex systems that combine mechanical, electrical, and electronic components. This role spans the entire product lifecycle, from concept, design, and prototyping to production support, testing, and continuous improvement.
The engineer ensures that electromechanical systems are reliable, efficient, safe, and cost-effective while meeting technical requirements and regulatory standards.
Working cross-functionally with R&D, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, the Electromechanical Engineer translates product requirements into practical designs, validates system performance through testing, and supports production and field operations.
This role requires hands-on problem-solving, technical analysis, and proactive identification of design improvements to enhance system functionality, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.

Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop electromechanical systems, assemblies, and components that meet functional and performance requirements
* Create, review, and maintain mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials
* Select appropriate motors, actuators, sensors, controllers, power supplies, and other components
* Perform calculations, simulations, and tolerance analyses to ensure optimal performance and reliability
* Integrate mechanical, electrical, and control elements into complete operational systems
* Develop and execute testing plans for prototypes, pilot runs, and production units
* Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to meet design objectives
* Support system validation, reliability testing, and compliance with applicable standards
* Facilitate the transition of designs from concept to production, ensuring manufacturability and scalability
* Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams on component selection, sourcing, and cost optimization
* Provide technical support for production issues, nonconformances, and design improvements
* Assist in the development of assembly processes, tooling, and fixtures
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
* Proven experience in electromechanical system design, product development, or industrial applications
* Strong knowledge of mechanical design, electrical systems, and basic controls
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and electrical design tools
* Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA), and cost optimization
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
