OverviewOur international client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of a large-scale 80MW DC infrastructure project. This position will operate as an extension of the project owner's team, providing leadership and oversight across multiple construction workstreams.The role is critical to ensuring contractors deliver in line with programme, quality expectations, health & safety standards, and commissioning requirements. This is a site-focused leadership role requiring strong coordination, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management capability.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team CoordinationLead and support a team of Construction Package Managers across multiple scopes of workDelegate effectively while maintaining accountability for performance and deliveryEncourage a collaborative, solution-focused environment across the site teamConstruction ManagementOversee daily construction activities and track progress against agreed milestonesIdentify risks, programme delays, and technical challenges, driving timely resolutionEnsure contractor performance aligns with contractual obligations and project standardsQuality & Commissioning InterfaceWork closely with quality teams to support inspections, audits, and close-out processesCoordinate with commissioning leads to ensure construction sequencing supports energisation and handover milestonesEnable smooth transition from construction to commissioning phasesHealth & SafetyPromote a strong safety culture across all contractors and site personnelMonitor compliance with regulatory and project-specific HSE requirementsParticipate in safety walks, reviews, and incident investigations as requiredStakeholder EngagementAct as a key interface between the project owner and delivery contractorsMaintain transparent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholdersBuild strong working relationships to drive alignment and accountabilityReportingProvide clear, structured progress updates and dashboardsEscalate risks and key issues in a timely and professional mannerPresent updates to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence
Candidate ProfileSignificant experience in large-scale infrastructure, energy, or mission-critical construction projectsProven ability to manage multiple contractors and work packages concurrentlyStrong leadership and stakeholder engagement skillsDemonstrable commitment to health, safety, and quality standardsExperience working in owner's representative or client-side roles is advantageous
