The project:
Our client in the utilities sector, is seeking an experienced DataCom Project Engineer to strengthen their team.
As a Project Engineer, you will support Grid Solutions and Large Projects (GSO + LP) requiring Datacom involvement.
Your role will be to organise, coordinate and monitor all activities necessary for the successful delivery of communication network projects, collaborating with various stakeholders including:
* Datacom Field Operations
* GSO + LP Project Leaders and Project Engineers
* Telecom Designers
* Contractors
* Network Architects
* Infrastructure Teams
Key responsibilities:
Project Preparation & Coordination
* Manage the administrative preparation and follow-up of individual projects.
* Coordinate activities across multiple teams and stakeholders.
* Ensure alignment between Datacom activities and overall project planning.
Technical Design Support
Following the handover of the high-level design from the Project Architect and/or Project Manager:
* Prepare low-level architecture designs for Network Architects.
* Prepare medium-level construction designs for Field Operations teams.
* Analyse project dependencies and assess impacts on existing infrastructures.
Stakeholder Management
* Coordinate with internal Datacom teams and infrastructure departments.
* Ensure proper communication and alignment across all stakeholders.
* Align project schedules with GSO + LP Project Leaders.
Site Activities
* Participate in occasional on-site activities when required.
* Support deployment and implementation activities.
Deliverables
* Documentation of project-related information in databases and project tools.
* Preparation and maintenance of network documentation, including:
* AS-IS network architecture and assets
* TO-BE network architecture and assets
* Site node compositions
* Project-specific network configurations
* Update existing technical documentation and plans.
* Creation of Bills of Materials (BoM).
* Verification of equipment and stock availability.
* Project reporting and progress tracking.
Is this you?
Languages
Fluent written and spoken:
* Dutch
* French
* English
Education & Technical Background
* Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience in Telecommunications.
* Ability to quickly assimilate new technical information.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Project & Communication Skills
* Project management experience.
* Reporting and documentation skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively across departments and technical teams.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
Good theoretical, practical and operational knowledge of:

* Telecommunications Infrastructure
Additional Asset
