Freelance Business Analyst – Financial Services

About the Role
Our client, a leading insurance company in Belgium, is seeking an experienced Freelance Business Analyst to support the implementation of a new application. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure requirements are well captured, translated into functional specifications, and delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary liaison between business teams and IT.
* Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
* Translate complex business needs into clear user stories, process flows, and specifications.
* Support the design, testing, and implementation of insurance-related solutions.
* Conduct gap analyses, impact assessments, and propose improvements to processes and systems.
* Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders in both Dutch and French.
* Support change management and training activities when required.
* Collect, structure and formalize all internal procedures related to our activity.
* Write clear and accessible materials.
Profile
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance or financial services sector.
* Strong understanding of insurance products, processes, and regulatory landscape.
* Excellent communication skills in Dutch and French (both written and spoken). English is an asset.
* Proficiency with BA tools (e.g., BPMN, UML, Jira, Confluence, MS Visio).
* Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
* Experience in agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) is a plus.
* Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
