R&D Engineer (Test and Validation Engineer)
With this innovative and distruptive technology company, we aren't just making parts; we are solving the most physical bottleneck in the AI revolution: Heat. While traditional data center cooling is reaching its physical limits, we’ve developed ultra-performant Smartfins technology using proprietary generative algorithms. We are a lean, fast-moving startup bridging the gap between high-level software intelligence and massive-scale hardware manufacturing. If you believe that a design isn't real until it has been stressed, measured, and validated in the lab, you belong here.
The Role
As our Validation & Experimental Engineer, you are the "Truth Seeker.
" You are responsible for designing and building the high-stakes environments that prove our technology's performance. You won't just be following a test plan; you will be the architect of our experimental ecosystem, building high-pressure loops and multi-zone Thermal Test Vehicles (TTVs) from the ground up. This is a high-autonomy role where you own the data flywheel that validates our generative designs.
Key Responsibilities
* Architect the Validation Ecosystem: Design, procure, and build state-of-the-art high-pressure liquid loops and complex multi-zone TTVs to simulate the extreme environments of next-gen GPUs.
* Automate the Data Flywheel: Develop and maintain autonomous data acquisition workflows using NI DAQ hardware and Python/LabVIEW, ensuring we process high-frequency sensor data at the speed of our hardware refresh cycles.
* Master of Metrology: Lead our non-intrusive flow measurement and Infrared (IR) thermography initiatives to capture the "invisible" physics of our Smartfins in action.
* Close the Loop: Work hand-in-hand with our CFD and R&D teams to correlate experimental data with numerical models, ensuring our "Digital Twin" is grounded in physical reality.
What You Bring
The Essentials:
* Advanced Academic Foundation: An MSc or PhD in Experimental Physics, Thermal Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, or a related field.
* Hands-on DNA: You are as comfortable with a wrench and a soldering iron as you are with a keyboard. You have a proven track record of building physical test rigs from scratch.
* Data Science Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of NI DAQ hardware and the ability to write clean, autonomous code in LabVIEW or Python (pandas, SciPy) for data processing.
* Metrology Expertise: Deep experience with IR thermography and advanced fluid measurement techniques.
The "Extra Mile":
* Experience in the semiconductor, aerospace, or data center cooling sectors.
* Familiarity with high-pressure fluid system safety and design standards.
* A background in scaling a "stealth" lab environment into a world-class validation facility.
Why Join Us?
* Full Ownership: You aren't just running tests; you are building the lab and defining the validation strategy for a category-defining technology.
* No Red Tape: We move at the speed of the hardware we cool. If you need a specific sensor or a new rig to prove a concept, we make it happen.
* Global Impact: Your data is the final proof required to deploy our energy-saving technology at a global scale.
