SECTION 1: Internship Overview
As an Intern, you will be responsible for undertaking account administration critical to all client and team projects as well as playing an active role in the broader smooth running of accounts. On a day-to-day basis, you will be relied on to conduct environmental monitoring and research for your account teams, in addition to developing a network of EU health policy stakeholders and media contacts. Additional responsibilities include supporting with research for new business and marketing activities.
The Intern should be interested in learning about health communications, advocacy and the integrated communications expertise that GCI Health Brussels and the WPP network offers. Activities to support your personal development include training sessions provided by the company, access to networking opportunities and a bespoke development plan to facilitate your progress.
SECTION 2: Key Responsibilities
Activity and Project Management:
Administrative support for accounts, with the support of your senior team as appropriate. Key responsibilities include working to deadlines and proactively reporting to your teams to deliver projects and other outputs according to your clients' objectives.
Policy analysis:
Proficiency in drafting policy briefs and stakeholder analysis including press releases, case studies, articles and email drafting, adapting these skills for relevant audiences.
Research and monitoring:
Research and analysis skills, ensuring that business pitches, proposals, client events and media opportunities are comprehensively supported and capitalised upon. You will also be required to keep up-to-date on EU health policy news and developments to inform client work and maintain a solid understanding of the policy landscape.
Personal Development:
Building and maintaining a current and comprehensive understanding of the EU media, current (health-related) affairs, client organisations, their market sectors and GCI Health business objectives. You will also undertake the training available to you within the company and WPP network.
Team Player:
Ability to consistently demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and demonstrate flexibility and willingness to contribute and go the extra mile for the team.
SECTION 3: Profile
Key experience and skills required to perform this role are:
* BA/MA in European Public Affairs/ EU Policy, Public Health, Health Policy
* Academic or extracurricular experience in EU health policy and /or communications in an institutional, patient organisation, medical society, research or in-house setting
* Strong knowledge of EU policy environment and EU decision making processes
* A keenness to learn and develop on the job and take on new challenges
* Ambitious, creative, curious and energetic, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
* A true team player, willing to help and excel for their teams and the business as a whole
* Proactive, organised and pays close attention to detail
* Able to handle a varied set of tasks in a sustainable, organised way, and communicate confidently with colleagues and stakeholders
* Native or fully proficient in English, with other languages an advantage
SECTION 4: Our Offer
* 6‑month paid full-time internship

The ideal candidate will start in March/April 2026. The intern will report into a member of the GCIH Brussels team.
