The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and verification of structures required for the execution of complex industrial projects in the energy, oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, data center, industrial infrastructure, and process industries sectors.
You are involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and preliminary design to detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you ensure the structural integrity of installations while meeting quality, safety, schedule, and budget requirements.
Structural Design and Analysis
Design and dimension industrial steel structures such as: steel frameworks, maintenance platforms, walkways and access structures, pipe racks, equipment supports, various load-bearing structures.
Design and verify reinforced concrete structures in accordance with applicable standards: industrial buildings, retaining walls, civil engineering structures, equipment support structures.
Perform foundation calculations: isolated or combined footings, raft foundations, equipment foundations, deep foundations and pile caps, industrials labs.
Develop and use numerical finite element models (FEM) for structural analysis.
Standards, Regulations, and Quality
Guarantee the technical quality of calculations and proposed solutions.
Ensure the application of safety rules throughout all study and execution phases.
Prepare and review: calculation notes, design reports, FEM analysis reports, foundation reports, technical specifications,load plans, technical studies and design documents.
Ensure consistency and traceability of all engineering documentation.
Collaborate with engineers from related disciplines (process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, etc.).
Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, constructability analyses, and risk assessments.
Act as the technical interface with clients, suppliers, engineering partners, and geotechnical consultants.
Provide technical support during construction phases and respond to site-related technical queries.
Contribute to achieving project objectives in terms of quality, cost, and schedule.
⚡ Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
Fluent professional English required +Fluent French strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural engineering within an industrial environment
Experience with industrial foundations and structures supporting process equipment.
Experience in the energy, data center, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors is a significant asset.
Proficiency in calculation software such as: SCIA Engineer, Robot Structural Analysis, Equivalent FEM software.
Knowledge of dynamic, seismic, and vibration analyses.
Familiarity with BIM environments and multidisciplinary projects is an asset.
