About the OPPORTUNITY
Abbott Medical Devices is seeking a Sr. IT Business Analyst to serve as a primary liaison between the Medical Devices IT function and Abbott manufacturing and distribution center site operations.
This critical role is responsible to ensure high quality, resilient IT services are designed and delivered daily across the site(s). This role will work directly with manufacturing and supply chain teams and apply IT and business knowledge and experience to manage and improve IT services delivery and support business case development to solve for technology related business problems and opportunities.
In addition, this role will also collaborate with other team members performing roles across business relationship management, business strategy and planning, portfolio planning, and demand management.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes, intermediate to strong understanding of IT technology and management processes, coupled with deep technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Communication and Collaboration:Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for IT-related matters at the site.Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors as required.Engage in business unit IT and BRM leadership forums, openly collaborate on opportunities and challenges, partner across IT and business teams to ideate, identify, and action solutions.Maintain and facilitate updates to relevant IT documentation to ensure efficient site operations.
2. Site IT Operations Management:Actively ensure IT solutions and services are operating efficiently and effectively in supporting manufacturing, distribution, and related business processes at the site. Responding to impacting business incidents interrupting the site or function from manufacturing, shipping, complying with the Quality System, financial period closures, and/or supporting employee safety and welfare. Key business services may be delivered across key Enterprise systems, including MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and site or function specific applications.Coordinate with local IT team members and service providers to perform consistently with defined SLAs and quality standards.Coordinate and execute IT projects and initiatives at the site, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.Act as the liaison to ensure qualified staff are providing on-site IT support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and services issues.
3. Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering:Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document their IT needs and requirements.Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement through technology solutions.Develop detailed functional and technical specifications for new applications and system enhancements.Conduct process and system design reviews to ensure project definition is aligned to desired business outcomes.Where required, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
4. Project Management:Oversee and guide small-to-medium-sized IT projects, with opportunities across planning, execution, and monitoring (inclusive of project plans, timelines, budgets, and quality documentation).Engages with global, regional, and/or functional delivery teams to support large-scale project definition, planning, execution, implementation, and operations.Support monitoring of project progress and regular status updates as required.Support identification and mitigation of project risks and issues with IT and business leadership.
5. Compliance and Security:Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.Implement and maintain IT cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and systems.Appropriately support cybersecurity controls assessments, vulnerability assessments, and audits as appropriate.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems Management, Business Administration or other discipline relevant for healthcare industry
Experience/Background
6. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT business analysis or a related role, preferably with experience in systems and processes supporting a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
7. Fluent English is required, Dutch and/or French would be plus
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
9. Strong-to-intermediate understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes, including MES, WMS, and ERP systems.
10. Experience working in a global, enterprise environment with multi-divisions or business units model structures.
11. Experience with IT project management and implementation.
12. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical device companies.
13. Ability to work with minimal direction and as part of a highly-matrixed team.
14. Technical knowledge and experience within infrastructure, enterprise-grade applications, and services is a plus.
15. Knowledge of ITIL framework and IT service management processes is a plus.
16. Ability to travel up to 15%, including potential international travel.
