E-Drive Design System Engineer
For the North Europe Tech Center we are currently looking for a motivated E-Drive Design System Engineer to join our team.
Within the Stellantis North Europe Tech Center (Sint-Truiden, Belgium, with an engineering antenna in Eindhoven, Netherlands), we lead the development and industrial lifecycle support of the electrified Dual Clutch Transmission (eDCT) product line.
Our team develop and maintain the embedded electric components for the 3 products:
* 48V Mild Hybrid (MHEV) e-drive system (inverter and emotor)
* 400V Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) e-drive system (inverter and emotor)
* A modular Transmission control Unit fitting in all the product line
These systems are deployed globally across multiple Stellantis vehicle platforms, supporting annual production volumes of approximately 1.2 million units.
To support serial life as well as regulatory evolution (Euro 7), new product derivatives and serial-life topics, we are looking for a transversal E-Drive Design System Engineer with strong system understanding and field-issue analysis experience.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will support the development of existing TCU (Transmission Controller Unit), and contribute to cross-functional technical topics. The role requires a candidate capable of working autonomously, adapting to shifting priorities, and coordinating across mechanical, software, electrical, manufacturing and validation domains.
The assignment includes close collaboration with the Assistant Chief Engineers and Family Manager of the MHEV and PHEV programs.
Main Responsibilities
* Support validation of Integration of Controller in Transmission Control System (Lab activities)
* Support serial life and continuous improvement activities for existing embedded systems.
* Develop component requirements and specification
* Creation and maintenance of DFMEA
* Take ownership of the APQP grid towards the suppliers
* Support efforts to incorporate module(s) into Stellantis eDCT and vehicle electrical systems and work with suppliers on new module package designs to conform to Stellantis vehicle under-hood and interior environments.
* Responsible for releasing components via Change Management System (CN's) and will interface with Global counterparts on global commonality.
* Coordinate and contribute to structured issue analysis for:
* Field returns / warranty
* Plant or 0-km system failures
* Perform or support analysis based on:
* CAN traces
* Performance indicators (current, efficiency, electrical control behavior, EMC)
* Support system analysis activities involving:
* Sensors and actuators expert
* Software calibration and controls teams
* Validation and functional safety
* Simulation experts
* Drive or support 8D/Six Sigma problem-solving as hoc workshops.
* Coordinate and monitor system requirements and traceability (Polarion).
* Master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* Minimum 0.5-1 years of experience in Design or related roles in the automotive or power electronics industry (including internship).
* Hands‑on experience with electronic systems, power electronics, or similar technologies.
* EMC background in school
* Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and technical notes redaction skills
* Excellent work ethic, organization skills, and communication skills
Preferred Tools & Technical Exposure
* Requirements management platforms: Polarion, (DOORS)
* CAN analysis tools: Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, Canapee
* Engineering analysis: MATLAB/Simulink, data processing tools
* Issue tracking and problem-solving frameworks: 8D, FMEA, Six Sigma
