We are seeking an experienced
Functional Analyst
to support one of our biggest vendors in Belgium the migration of its
GEOSYS
test processing modules from
Visual Basic desktop applications
to
Java-based web applications
.
Key Responsibilities:
* Gain a thorough understanding of existing
GEOSYS
applications and their functionalities.
* Analyze the interaction between GEOSYS modules and the broader system landscape.
* Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather and validate requirements.
* Produce detailed
functional analyses
and documentation.
* Define and document
User Stories
and
Epics
with clear acceptance criteria in
Jira
.
* Collaborate with the development team and IT Manager on
sprint planning
, development schedules, and release content.
* Conduct
first-line testing
and coordinate broader test sessions.
* Collect and evaluate feedback from interim and final releases.
* Contribute to production readiness planning and deployment considerations.
* Maintain up-to-date
documentation
and
user manuals
.
* Track bugs, enhancement requests, and changes for related applications, including:
* Geocore
(file management)
* Laboratory Reporting
(test monitoring and scheduling)
* Drilling Record & Sample Management
(sample tracking)
* Cone Probing
* Support the
APEX
team with analyses where interdependencies exist.
Requirements:
* Strong understanding of
requirement analysis
,
data and process modelling
, and
system design
.
* Knowledge of
OO (Object-Oriented)
,
multi-tier
, and
web-enabled
environments; familiarity with
UML
.
* Experience collaborating with
software development teams
using tools like
Jira
and
Confluence
.
* Technical understanding of
Java web application
development and
PostgreSQL
environments.
* Familiarity with
Visual Basic
(for reference analysis of legacy modules).
* Migration from
Visual Basic
to
Java
web applications
* PostgreSQL
database

for project and documentation management
