Data Engineer
is a data product development company, founded by four data scientists in 2017. Acquired by Brussels Airport in 2022, the company has grown to a team of 30+ experts in Data, AI, and application development. The team currently focuses on building data products in two industries: energy and airports. We are currently looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help develop AI, machine learning & big data solutions in the energy sector.
Responsibilities
* Ensure incident management and propose appropriate corrective solutions
* Contribute to evolution studies and continuous improvement initiatives for data platform projects
* Deliver all or part of data engineering sub-projects, including:
* Requirements analysis
* Technical design
* Effort and workload estimation
* Development and deployment
* Produce and maintain technical and functional documentation related to delivered work
The position involves on-site work at our client's location in Liège two days per week
Qualifications
* Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
* 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
* Strong understanding of Cloud concepts (storage, access control, serverless, scalability, networking, monitoring)
* Hands-on knowledge of AWS Analytics & Big Data environment
* Experience with the following AWS services: S3, Athena, EMR and/or EKS, Glue, Airflow
* Proficiency in Python
* Initial experience with Spark and Big Data environments
* Experience using version control tools, especially Git
* Knowledge of French (mandatory) & English (mandatory).
* An analytical mind, attention to details, and a keen interest in the energy transition challenges
