The Opportunity:
Avantor is currently looking for a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to strengthen our team in Haasrode, Leuven ! In this position, you will work at our site in Haasrode while collaborating and sharing knowledge with our EHS Specialists throughout Europe.
You will provide essential training for our teams and departments, be the point of contact for best practices, and ensure that everyone on our Distribution Center and Production Site contributes to our safety culture!

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 (38 hours/week).
What we are looking for
Education : Higher education (preferably) and Prevention Advisor Level 2 certificate.
Experience:
1. Previous experience gained in the chemical sector
2. Knowledge of process safety and Atex
3. Experienced internal auditor (ISO:45001 & ISO:14001 preferred)
4. Language skills: Fluent communication in Dutch and English
How you will thrive and create an impact
5. Develop themes in accordance with the EHS organizational policy in Belgium
6. Coordinate the induction and training process regarding the Seveso III regulations
7. Support with your technical expertise for the application of process safety
8. Entering and monitoring EHS processes and documentation for the distribution and logistics departments
9. Conduct EHS audits against a developed program
10. Support and coordinate incident and observational safety investigations using root cause analysis techniques
11. Maintain records and documented information related to the EHS function
