Job summary

The VP HR Operations Europe drives operational excellence across the employee lifecycle by developing and delivering streamlined, high-quality, and service-focused HR operations. They ensure alignment with business strategy and Group HR policies, while continuously improving efficiency, compliance, employee experience, and service delivery in Europe.

As HR Director Belgium, you will be a key member of the management team for Collectibles and Trading Card Games EU. In this role, you will align business objectives with people strategies, acting as a strategic advisor, coach, and enabler. You will drive HR initiatives that enhance performance, engagement, development, and cultural alignment across the organization. Additionally, you will oversee day-to-day HR operations at Cartamundi HQ and take the lead in managing social relations.

Part of the Collectibles and Trading Card games Leadership team ( Turnhout )

2 direct reports in Europe CEE and Spain

Key Responsibilities

7. Provide strategic and operational HR leadership for our Belgian entities (Turnhout NV, Cartamundi HQ, Cartamundi Digital, Cartamundi Benelux) and smaller European offices.
8. Champion operational excellence in all HR processes, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
9. Deliver seamless support across the entire employee lifecycle in Belgium—from recruitment to development and offboarding.
10. Strengthen the management team of Turnhout NV (C&TCG EU) and actively participate in the works council.
11. Lead day-to-day HR operations at HQ, with a strong focus on service quality and employee engagement.
12. Coordinate HR operations for our European teams in Germany, Poland, and Spain, driving consistent, high-quality HR service delivery.

13. Recruitment & selection strategy in collaboration with Group COE Talent Management with operational excellence in execution
14. Compensation & benefits policy design and delivery in collaboration with Group COE Compensation & Benefits
15. Implementation and continuous improvement of efficient HR processes
16. Leading, coaching, and developing the HR team to deliver outstanding service
17. Organizational design and workforce planning
18. Workforce budgeting and forecasting with operational rigor
19. Driving change management and culture transformation initiatives
20. Talent management, development planning, performance, and succession
21. HR administration with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
22. Enhancing employee engagement and experience
23. Building and maintaining strong, constructive relationships with trade unions
24. Coaching and supporting the leadership team at Cartamundi Turnhout

Your profile:

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

25. A proactive, solution-oriented approach, consistently seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation.
26. Master’s degree in Finance, HR, Law, or business
27. 10+ years in HR roles within a manufacturing setting, including success as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager leading teams.
28. Proven ability to translate business strategy into actionable, results-driven HR initiatives.
29. Demonstrated expertise in delivering operational excellence across the entire employee lifecycle.
30. Change management experience with a track record of driving cultural and organizational transformation.
31. Thorough knowledge of Belgian social legislation and its practical application.
32. Strong project management skills to deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives.
33. Experience participating in works councils.
34. Fluent in Dutch and English.
35. Excellent prioritization and communication skills.
36. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.
37. Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to influence, build trust, and drive alignment among key stakeholders.
38. Skilled at managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
