Purpose of the position/your role :
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing procurement and planning activities to ensure a seamless flow of materials to support production, customer demand, and inventory goals. This hybrid role combines strategic sourcing, purchasing, and production planning functions, working closely with suppliers, manufacturing, logistics, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning
* Develop and maintain supply and production plans using demand forecasts, historical data, and business requirements.
* Perform MRP (Material Requirements Planning) runs and ensure timely ordering of raw materials and components.
* Optimize inventory levels (min/max, safety stock) to prevent shortages and overstock.
* Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and sales to align supply plans with production schedules and customer demand.
Buying / Procurement / Vendor Management
* Place, track, and manage purchase orders (POs) with domestic and international suppliers.
* Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate lead times, prices, and delivery schedules.
* Monitor supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and resolve issues proactively.
* Ensure compliance with internal quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA if applicable).
* Support new product introductions (NPI) with timely procurement of parts.
Data & Reporting
* Maintain accurate material master and purchasing data in ERP system.
* Analyze KPIs such as inventory turns, supplier on-time delivery, and PO accuracy.
* Participate in S&OP, production meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Professional Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
* 3–5 years experience in a Buyer/Planner or related role.
* Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics).
* Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
* Understanding of supply chain principles, demand planning, and purchasing best practices.
Preferred Skills & experience:
* Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical device, aerospace, pharma).
* Familiarity with GMP, GDP, and ISO standards.
* APICS/CPIM or similar certification is a plus.
* Experience working with international suppliers and freight forwarders.
