A forwarder coordinates independently the logistics orders based on the procedures requested or pre-imposed by the customer.
The responsibilities of the Ocean Freight Forwarder are:
1. Gather and check the shipment information
2. Receive, record and validate customer order in the TMS taking into consideration our offer (quotation, SOP)
3. Define the execution plan (routing) versus the operational constraints (embargoes, Transit Time, Cost,) (with Middle Office solutions)
4. Collect all required documents (commercial invoice, packing list, etc.)
5. Handle shipments
6. Check the availability of cargo and provide confirmation that shipping can proceed
7. Optimize the operational execution and perform the transportation plan (booking) (with Middle Office solutions)
8. Input up to date information regarding the shipment in the TMS
9. Produce documentation according to customer profile (transport documents)
10. Manage communication and processing of documentation with suppliers (internal + external)
11. Create and update events in the TMS
12. Monitor shipments
13. Monitor and improve suppliers performance (with MO solutions)
14. Coordinate with COS in case of deviation
15. Process and monitor customer invoices
16. Validate that all documentation is complete and compliant versus the requirements and upload in the TMS
17. Complete Internal invoicing/Cost postings
18. Produce and dispatch External invoices and documents to Customers
19. Report
20. Prepare operational reports and provide feedback to the manager
21. Be responsible for the effective operational execution our commitments (qualitative pre-assessment)
He/she must demonstrate sufficient social and communicative skills when informing customers, agents, suppliers, etc.

22. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience
23. Fluent Dutch
24. Technical terminology in French and English
25. Ability to work with MS Office
26. Ability to work with the company software
