Job Description - Roles and ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Linux Systems Engineer, you will:Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, deployment, network, enterprise architecture, and IT security) on infrastructure and application projects.Design and implement Linux-based platforms and containerized environments following DevOps practices.Evaluate and introduce new compute and storage solutions to improve infrastructure performance and scalability.Perform system operations, including installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Linux environments.Manage incidents and problems through fault analysis, diagnosis, and resolution, and maintain operational procedures.Oversee change and configuration management, including assessment, scheduling, implementation, and review of system changes.Design and implement operational management systems and tools (e.g., CMDB, knowledge systems), including proof of concept, testing, and deployment.Monitor operational performance through metrics, support capacity and migration planning, and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications:What would make you a fit for the role:Master's degree with 8+ years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant professional experience.Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.Hands-on experience with automation and scripting, including Ansible, Shell, or Python.Experience with system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management, including the use of Red Hat Satellite.Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure environments and virtualization platforms.Experience with DevOps practices and container technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.Familiarity with VMware, Nutanix, hyperconverged infrastructure, and cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, Infrastructure as Code) is considered an advantage.Good knowledge of ITIL best practices and fluency in English.
