Leaseurope, the European Federation of Leasing Company Associations, is looking for a Legal & Policy Adviser who will be supporting the Federation and its 46 members on specific legal matters. This position has an extensive exposure to C-level & senior management in the financial, leasing, and car rental sector.

To achieve this, Leaseurope:
* represents the leasing and automotive rental industries vis-a-vis European and international bodies as a fair and reliable partner and a contact point for key stakeholders;
* informs its members of all European or international developments that may impact their industry;
* develops and defends industry positions that are supported by technical research and expertise;
* produces European-wide statistics in order to i) explain who the Federation represents and its importance in the economy and ii) assess the current state of the market, identify trends and facilitate benchmarking;
* provides its members with a platform to (i) exchange views and best practices; (ii) network and (iii) meet relevant third parties (EU officials, experts, etc).
What will you be working on?
Our Legal & Policy Adviser will be working with the Advocacy team under the supervision of the Director General. His or her responsibilities would typically include, but are not limited to:
* ensuring the running of the Federation’s Legal Affairs Committee and its sub-groups (involving the preparation of meeting agendas, supporting documents, minutes, etc.)
* identifying, monitoring, analysing, advising and reporting on EU initiatives that may impact on the activities of leasing companies (e.g. digitalisation, sustainability, etc.)
* drafting and delivering of position papers, reports and briefings
* advising on lobbying strategies and putting them into practice
* participating in relevant external Working Groups such as the European Banking Industry Committee
* representing the Federation vis-à-vis relevant policy-makers and standard-setters
* ensuring constant information flow to members
* authoring articles for submission to specialised press and giving presentations
* contributing to the Leaseurope Newsletter and other Leaseurope publications
* working closely with co-advisers to organize and create the programme of the Federation’s Annual Convention and representing the Federation at the Annual Convention
* ensuring the running of the Federation’s Real Estate Working Group with a focus on legal matters (involving the preparation of meeting agendas, supporting documents, minutes, etc.)
* offering ad hoc legal support to the various Committees and Working Groups of Leaseurope.
Who are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate has a University degree in law or a related field with preferably 3 to 4 years of relevant working experience. You speak/write in fluent English (independent / proficient English native or equivalent) and have a good knowledge of and/or experience in the EU institutional framework.
We are looking for a colleague with an analytical mindset, a good eye for detail and a high level of accuracy. You demonstrate the ability to work independently or within teams and meet strict deadlines. You have first class drafting skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, and are comfortable with presenting to groups of people. Ideally you have experience in working in a multicultural and multi-stakeholder environment.
