Our client (a Brussels-based family investment holding) is seeking to strengthen its investment team.
Beyond the management of its existing portfolio, future investment activity is set to expand significantly and will focus on the following key areas:
(i) private market funds
(ii) businesses driving sustainable development, including energy transition, infrastructure, transport, and the circular economy private market funds
All investments are guided by a long-term vision to foster a stronger economy through building an entrepreneurial portfolio of holdings.
Position
The selected candidate will join the investment team to work alongside the principal responsible for private market fund investments, contributing to the overall execution of the strategy through sourcing, analysis, and follow-up of investment projects.
Principal responsibilities
Key activities will include:
* Research, intelligence, and benchmarking on private markets, with a focus on the sustainability-related themes.
* Sourcing, identifying, and reviewing primary, secondary, and co-investment opportunities.
* Coordinating and executing due diligence, including financial modelling, portfolio analysis, and review of legal documentation.
* Preparing investment memos and actively participating in allocation committees.
* Managing and developing relationships with GPs, including advisory board participation where relevant, and monitoring portfolio investments.
* Supporting the implementation of sourcing, underwriting, and reporting frameworks, with a particular focus on ESG and sustainability factors.
* Contributing to the development and improvement of internal tools and processes.
Profile sought
Candidates should hold a master’s degree in economics, management, law, or engineering, combined with at least 8 years of experience in asset management, private equity, or a closely related field. Substantial experience with private equity fund investments (funds of funds strategy) is essential.
They should demonstrate a strong interest in investment matters, ESG and sustainability, and an ability to assess the performance and risks of current and prospective investments. The role also requires alignment with the company’s values and a drive to create positive societal impact.
