Context
Join DPAM's European Listed Real Estate team at our main office in Brussels and contribute to the ESG integration process within a high conviction, actively managed investment strategy. You'll work at the crossroads of real estate, financial markets, and sustainability, transforming ESG data into insights used directly in portfolio decisions. Collaborating closely with portfolio managers and DPAM's Responsible Investment Competence Centre (RICC), you'll gain hands on experience with both company level analysis and day to day asset management workflows. This internship is ideal for motivated students who want to deepen their understanding of listed real estate while shaping a more sustainable economy.
Your position
What You Will Do
* Produce ESG scorecards for all portfolio holdings
* Conduct TCFD aligned carbon analyses for the largest contributors to the portfolio's carbon intensity.
* Assess key ESG KPIs, compare companies against their own history and against peers, and extract actionable insights for investment discussions.
* Identify industry-wide trends and sustainability regulations as key risk & opportunities for real estate companies
* Synthesize research into structured outputs for portfolio discussions and client materials.
* Elevate data quality: structure datasets, document sources and methodologies, and help improve repeatable ESG workflows.
How You Will Work
* Analyze annual reports and sustainability reports from companies, complemented by research reports from ESG data providers.
* Join meetings with company management teams and sell-side analysts alongside fund managers to challenge and refine your analysis.
* Interact with DPAM's Responsible Investment Competence Centre (RICC) to align methodologies, ensure consistency, and improve ESG research practices.
* Discuss your insights and findings with the fund managers.

* Reporting line: Fund Managers of the strategy
* Location: DPAM Headquarters – Brussels, with some teleworking allowed.
* Your work will directly inform investment decisions, risk assessments, and client facing ESG communication.
Your profile
Education & Background
* Motivated Bachelor or Master student in Banking, Business Administration, Business Engineering, Economics, Finance, Real Estate, or Sustainability (or equivalent).
* Strong interest in real estate and sustainability.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong analytical mindset; able to handle both quantitative and qualitative ESG indicators.
* Research driven, rigorous.
* Communication: turn complex findings into clear, structured insights (concise writing and compelling slides).
* Tools: MS Office proficiency is required (especially Excel & PowerPoint). Python, VBA, or Power BI are assets but not mandatory.
* Languages: Excellent command of English is required; French or Dutch is a plus.
Personality
* Curious, proactive, independent.
* A team player who enjoys engaging with investment and sustainability specialists.
Availability
* Full time preferred; but flexibility possible depending on academic commitments.
