Job description
Taux journalier (TJM): 750
Context and objective
The mission takes place within a major Belgian player in the energy sector and is focused on the Asset business domain, which supports infrastructure operations. The objective is to ensure that the Asset domain’s IT landscape is coherent, secure, operable and future-proof, while enabling safe and reliable grid operations and aligning with strategic and regulatory obligations.
The role is positioned at the intersection of strategy and execution. The consultant is expected to act as a pragmatic bridge between business initiatives and IT implementation, translating business capabilities into scalable technical blueprints for the management of physical assets through digital solutions.
Main responsibilities
As Domain Architect, the consultant will be responsible for:
• Architectural translation and design: building a strategic tandem with Business Architecture to translate organizational capabilities into actionable IT roadmaps; converting complex business processes into detailed IT blueprints for development and implementation teams
• Standards and governance: defining and enforcing domain-specific principles in alignment with group and local principles, standards and reference architectures; presenting and defending architectural designs before the Architectural Review Board (ARB); formalizing decisions through Architectural Decision Records (ADRs); guarding against architectural drift and unmanaged technical debt; monitoring SLA/OLA performance and reporting domain-level risks
• Portfolio management: maintaining a single source of truth for the Asset IT application and platform portfolio within the Enterprise Architecture Repository; conducting regular portfolio assessments such as Gartner TIME and 6R in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders; identifying reuse opportunities to reduce technical debt and operational costs; working with solution architects to ensure solutions remain viable across build, run, evolve and retire phases and aligned with domain strategy and quality standards
• Strategic advisory: conducting trade-off analyses on cost, risk, complexity and time to value to support executive decisions; performing peer reviews of Solution Architecture deliverables for domain consistency; developing and maintaining domain roadmaps that anticipate regulatory, technological and energy-system evolution; advising senior stakeholders on long-term architectural implications of asset strategy decisions
• Data, integration and information architecture: working with Data Architects and Solution Architects to govern asset and operational data models, integration patterns and data ownership; working with Enterprise Architects and Platform Architects to ensure interoperability between enterprise systems, control systems and analytics platforms; coordinating with Data Architecture to ensure semantic consistency and data quality
• Security, resilience and compliance: working with security and compliance teams to embed security, availability and resilience requirements into the domain architecture; ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, safety and cyber obligations; defining architectural measures for business continuity and disaster recovery
