Atelier Luxus is a Belgian manufacturer of high-end electrical hardware, specializing in luxury switches, sockets and bespoke electrical devices crafted primarily from solid premium brass. Each product is developed with meticulous attention to detail, combining expert metalworking, refined surface patinas and precision mechanical execution to create pieces that are both functional and objects of enduring quality and elegance.
As part of the Prado Group, Atelier Luxus is entering a new growth phase. To support this evolution, we are seeking a talented Industrial Designer to join our Research & Development team.
You will be working with four fellow designers, under the supervision of the R&D Manager, as well as closely collaborating with the production and commercial teams. you will play a central role in conceiving, developing and refining our collections — pushing the boundaries of aesthetics, functionality and craftsmanship in the luxury electrical domain.
what you will do
1. New product development
You will drive the creation of innovative products from initial concept through to final prototype:
* Conceptualize and design new products that align with our premium positioning.
* Create precise 3D models based on measurements of existing products or new ideas.
* Develop detailed 3D modeling, technical drawings, assembly plans and Bills of Materials.
* Identify optimal technical solutions while balancing cost, manufacturability and lead-time constraints.
* Participate in prototype fabrication (including 3D printing), testing, iteration and final validation.
* Continuous improvement of existing products
You will contribute to the evolution and optimization of our current range:
* Update technical drawings and documentation based on field feedback, modifications or new requirements.
* Propose technical, aesthetic or functional enhancements.
* Lead redesign projects (relooking) in response to evolving standards, cost reduction targets or performance improvements.
* Create and maintain high-quality technical files, product sheets and supporting graphic documents.
what we are looking for
* Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent.
* Excellent command of CAD software; proficiency in Fusion 360 and KeyShot is a strong advantage.
* Solid knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator).
* Experience in producing realistic 3D visualizations and renderings for presentations.
* Exceptional attention to detail, rigor and uncompromising commitment to quality.
* Strong team player: comfortable collaborating across departments (workshop, purchasing, project management, external engineering offices…).
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
* Resilience under pressure and deadlines.
* Creative yet pragmatic mindset: able to balance technical execution (70%) with creative exploration (30%).
* Proactive, autonomous and initiative-driven.
* Fluency in French with good understanding of technical English; additional languages are a plus.
* Valid driver's license (B) and personal vehicle (our site is not served by public transport).
* Prior experience in a similar industrial design role is a significant advantage.
* Mastery of technical drawing, 3D modeling and drafting.
* Comfortable producing professional graphic documents (assembly plans, technical sheets, etc.).
* Innovative approach to technical solutions and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to engage directly with the workshop to resolve technical issues.
* Excellent communication and collaborative spirit in a demanding setting.
* Familiarity with 3D printing for prototyping is highly appreciated.
* Knowledge of plastic injection molding is a notable plus.
