Your role
The University of Luxembourg is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to join its Facility Management department. You will lead the Safety & Services Team and report directly to the Head of Facility Management. In this role, you will be responsible for achieving defined objectives, ensuring smooth daily operations within your team, and advancing Health & Safety matters across the University.
* Lead a team of safety and security professionals and service providers
* Develop and define safety and security concepts for the university
* Build and maintain a strong operational unitincluding subcontractors and suppliers
* Contribute actively towards the evolution of the Facility Management department
* Identify synergies inside the various Facility Management teams to improve processes
* Foster excellent relations with all faculties and interdisciplinary centers at the University
* Establish and decide onsafety and security concepts in infrastructure related projects
* Supervise the planning and follow-up of periodical controls
* Develop and maintain excellent relations with internal external stakeholders
* Raise awareness and train staff and service providers relating to relevant procedures
* Make relevant contributions to specification documents in preparation for call for tenders or negotiated procedures
* Drive site conformity
* Manage budgets as an objective
* Organize, optimize and contribute to on-call duty
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report regularly on activities to management
* Ensure continuous improvement of processes and implement best practices
Your profile
* University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Engineering or Science
* Proven track record (at least 5 years) in a safety management position, ideally within a research-oriented organization
* "Travailleur Désigné" certification and proven experience in risk evaluation
* Profound knowledge of ITM rules and procedures
* Sound knowledge in fire protection, laser safety, chemicals and gases, radioprotection
* Master standard Microsoft Office applications and ideally inventory software (Quarks, Archibus,….)
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Strong leadership with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work autonomously and proactivly, as well as to adapt to priority or need changes
* Experience in people management, including performance development and conflict resolution
* A background in environmental subjects is considered an asset
* Proficiency in English and French is a must. German and/or Luxembourgish will be considered as an asset
