QUALITY ENGINEER - LEUVEN REGION (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the consistent quality, reliability, and compliance of products throughout the full lifecycle, from development through manufacturing and into field performance.
While the role involves working with electronic products, the primary focus is on quality assurance, process control, and continuous improvement.
You will act as a quality advocate within cross-functional teams, helping to define, implement, and improve quality systems that prevent defects rather than simply detect them. A strong emphasis is placed on understanding failure modes, driving root cause analysis, and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and standards across product lifecycle stages
* Lead root cause analysis of product and process failures and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
* Conduct inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with internal and external quality requirements
* Support and improve incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes
* Analyse quality data and field performance trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities
* Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure robust design transfer and production readiness
* Review technical documentation (drawings, specifications, test procedures) from a quality perspective
* Support supplier quality activities, including evaluations, audits, and performance monitoring
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality-first thinking across teams
Required Skills & Experience:
* Degree or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field
* Experience in a Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Quality, or similar role
* Strong understanding of quality principles, including root cause analysis and corrective action systems
* Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and statistical process control (SPC)
* Ability to interpret technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and test reports
* Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
* Good communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams
The Offer:
* A permanent, full-time employment contract
* A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience
