Overview
Modern Workplace Engineer at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), located within the Operations & Infrastructure team in the ICT Directorate. The role reports to the ICT Operations Team Leader and is based in Brussels (Campus Etterbeek) with a combination of on‑site and remote work.
Responsibilities
* Manage and optimize the university’s digital workspace.
* Use and configure the deployment tools for the digital workplace.
* Develop creative solutions for common workplace challenges, engaging with end users to analyse and meet their needs.
* Implement security policy within the Modern Workplace, enhancing endpoint protection.
* Identify potential issues and propose ideas to improve ICT services.
* Keep technical knowledge up‑to‑date and focus on automation whenever possible.
* Provide third‑line support to the ICT Service Desk colleagues.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in IT, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Professional experience in Endpoint Management.
* Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Management (Intune), NinjaOne, Microsoft Endpoint Manager/SCCM, and Microsoft AVD.
* Up‑to‑date awareness of the latest technological developments in Intune, NinjaOne, SCCM, and AVD.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
* Affinity with higher education is an added advantage.
