Job Title: Medical Device Engineer
Location: Hasselt, Belgium (fully on-site)
Type: 6-month contract (initially)
Responsibilities:
* Design control, design processes, as well as the design & development of testing equipment & tools for precision products.
* Design, develop, and validate in-house test setups, jigs, and fixtures to support device and component testing.
* Use 3D CAD tools to design test parts, prototypes, and mechanical component
* Build and iterate prototypes using rapid prototyping equipment, including FDM & resin 3D printers, CNC milling equipment.
* Execute mechanical and functional tests on devices and sub-assemblies and perform hands-on testing.
* Prepare test protocols, configure test setups, and ensure accurate and traceable data collection.
* Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and prototyping machines, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Qualifications:
* Degree in electro-mechanical engineering discipline or experience in a physical test lab environment.
* Proficient in 3D CAD design (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
* Experience in development of mechanical or electromechanical test set designing and assembling prototypes, and executing laboratory or engineering tests.
* Practical experience with rapid prototyping tools, including filament and resin 3D printing, and CNC milling / workshop tools.
