What will be your role?
We are looking for a Patent Engineer with both technical and legal background reporting to the Head of Advanced Engineering. You will be in charge of leading the tasks related to IP maintenance and development.
Your role will be to build strong IP protection considering each E2Drives discipline (mechanics, electronics, software) in order to maintain a competitive advantage with respect to competitors.
What will be your main responsibilities?
* Maintain and enrich the technology monitoring analysis and develop methods in view of that.
* Check the market to detect possible infringement and to act consequently.
* Perform prior art searches, patentability analysis and freedom to operate analysis at different stages of the projects.
* Prepare material (concept description, figures, etc) for patent application and depending on capability draft it.
* Collaborate with the patent attorney to write and review the patent application and to answer the office actions in order to maximize the IP protection.
* Maintain IP portfolio in collaboration with the Head of Advanced Engineering and external attorneys.
* You will be responsible to ensure a strong protection of E2 Drives' IP.
What is your profile?
* A Master's degree in electromechanical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical or industrial engineering. PhD in engineering or similar research is a plus.
* Education in law or in patent matters or equivalent experience. Patent attorney qualification is a plus but not required.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in academic structure, industry, or private or governmental patent office.
* You possess a strong technical background and have a mindset oriented to system engineering
* You are familiar with the patent rules and processes.
* Very good communication skills, analytical and linguistic, problem solving skills, rigorous, autonomous and results oriented.
* Capable of learning fast and of understanding complex systems.
* Fluent in
French
(mandatory) and in English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
