A large enterprise organisation is seeking an experienced .NET WPF Developer to support the development, maintenance, and modernisation of desktop applications within a critical operational environment. The role involves working on applications that contribute to real-time decision-making and system stability in a high-reliability context.
About the Role
The position may involve either independent ownership of a modernisation project or integration into an existing development team, depending on assignment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain desktop applications using WPF and .NET
- Modernise and rewrite legacy applications built on older .NET frameworks
- Design and implement clean, maintainable, and high-quality code
- Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and product stakeholders
- Contribute to technical design and improvement of existing systems
- Ensure application performance, stability, and usability in production environments
- Work either independently or as part of a structured development team
Qualifications
- Strong experience with C# and .NET development
- Solid expertise in WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation)
- Experience with desktop application architecture and lifecycle
- Ability to refactor and modernise legacy .NET applications
- Strong understanding of software design principles and clean code practices
Required Skills
- Experience working on large-scale or enterprise applications
- Exposure to mission-critical or high-reliability systems
- Experience working in both independent and team-based environments
- Familiarity with backend integration (e.g. APIs, messaging systems)
