Maritime Policy DirectorAs part of the MSC Group Maritime Policy andGovernment Affairs team, the Group Maritime PolicyDirector will be responsible for developing andmaintaining relationships with
– International Maritime Organization andrelevant technical bodies of international maritimeindustry associations.
– Government agencies, policymakers, andnational industry associations to advance theGroup’s interests in UK;
This role is ideal for a proactive and strategicprofessional with a deep understanding of maritimeregulations, and a proven ability to influence andengage with key stakeholders. The Director will actas an external advocate for MSC on priority policymatters and contribute to shaping the regulatoryenvironment in alignment with the Group’sstrategic objectives.

Responsibilities– Attending the work of the International Maritime Organization
and representing MSC interests in close coordination with the MSCentities.
– Monitor and analyze national and international legislative andregulatory developments impacting the maritime sector.
– Coordinate MSC’s government-facing advocacy in the UK,including national and local authorities.
– Support all MSC Group divisions in their interaction with UKinstitutions and national regulatory bodies.
– Represent MSC in relevant industry associations, publichearings, and policy discussions both in relation to IMO and UK
– Develop and implement strategies to engage with governmentofficials and regulatory bodies.
– Advise senior leadership on public policy risks and opportunities.
– Draft and deliver policy briefings, reports, and position papers.
– Foster partnerships with key stakeholders, including national,regional and local authorities.
– Coordinate internal teams to align business strategies with public policy goals.
– Contribute to MSC’s broader European and internationalpolicy agenda.
Requirements– Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related field;
– Minimum 10 years of experience in government affairs, publicpolicy, or regulatory roles, ideally within the maritime or logisticssectors. Experience in class society can also be considered as anadvantage.
– Knowledge of UK legislative and regulatory processes.
– Familiarity with maritime, transport, energy, and climatepolicy frameworks.
– Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-buildingskills.
– Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
– Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and policy research tools.
