About the Mission
Are you excited by the idea of contributing to one of Belgium’s most impactful energy initiatives?
This project takes place within a major Belgian player in the energy sector, operating at the heart of the country’s electricity infrastructure and playing a key role in the European energy transition.
You will join a diverse team of internal experts and external consultants who together support the development of a sustainable, resilient, and future‑proof energy grid. The environment values innovation, collaboration, and diversity, believing that inclusive teams drive better outcomes.
Role: IT Domain Architect – Asset Management
We are looking for a high‑impact IT Domain Architect to strengthen the Architecture team, with a specific focus on the Asset Management domain — the backbone of infrastructure operations.
You will act as a pragmatic bridge between business ambitions and technology execution. Your mission: ensure that the IT landscape of the Asset domain is coherent, secure, scalable, operable, and future‑proof, supporting safe and reliable grid operations.
This position is ideal for someone who loves working at the intersection of strategy and delivery, transforming complex business capabilities into robust technical architectures.
Key Responsibilities

* Partner closely with Business Architecture to translate organizational capabilities into actionable IT roadmaps.
* Convert complex business processes into clear, scalable IT blueprints guiding delivery teams.
🔹 Standards, Governance & Decision Making
* Define and enforce domain-specific architectural principles aligned with group standards.
* Present and defend architectural choices in governance bodies.
* Produce Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).
* Prevent architectural drift and manage technical debt.
* Monitor SLA/OLA performance and assess domain‑level risks.
🔹 Portfolio Management
* Maintain an up‑to‑date overview of all Asset IT applications and platforms.
* Perform portfolio assessments (e.g., TIME, 6R) in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
* Identify opportunities for reuse and rationalization.
* Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure lifecycle alignment from build to retire.
🔹 Strategic Advisory
* Conduct trade-off analyses (cost, risk, complexity, time-to‑value).
* Review Solution Architecture deliverables for domain consistency.
* Develop and maintain domain roadmaps anticipating regulatory, technological, and energy‑sector evolution.
* Advise leadership on long‑term architectural implications.
🔹 Data, Integration & Information Architecture
* Collaborate with Data Architects and Solution Architects to define and govern data models, integration patterns, and ownership structures.
* Ensure interoperability across enterprise systems, operational tools, and analytics platforms.
* Drive semantic consistency and data quality across the domain.
🔹 Security, Resilience & Compliance
* Embed security, availability, and resilience requirements into domain architectures.
* Ensure compliance with safety, operational, and cyber regulatory standards.
* Define architectural measures supporting business continuity and disaster recovery.
