To support our video production, we are looking for a
junior motion designer intern
with interests in
motion graphics, character animation and video editing
.
As a motion design intern at Cartoonbase, you will:
* Collaborate with project managers and the creative team to develop video concepts and visual approaches
* Create, analyse and provide feedback on storyboards and animatics
* Animate sequences using existing assets (illustrations, typography, graphic elements) or create simple assets when needed
* Produce
motion graphics and character animation
primarily in After Effects (and related tools)
* Edit and assemble video content, including projects combining animation and live footage
* Export videos in multiple formats adapted to different platforms
* Structure projects according to studio guidelines (file naming, organisation, plugins) to ensure smooth collaboration and archiving
* Occasionally support other production needs within a fast-growing studio environment
You will report to the Producer (Head of Studio) and the Creative Director, and collaborate closely with project managers and the creative team.
We are looking for someone with:
* Good understanding of animation principles and motion design fundamentals
* After Effects proficiency and knowledge of Premiere Pro (required)
* Knowledge of Davinci Resolve, Animate, Toon Boom or similar tools is a plus
* Interest in both motion graphics and character animation
* Video editing skills are an asset
* Illustration skills are a plus
* Attention to detail and strong organisational habits
* Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
* Proactive mindset and ability to propose ideas
* Strong team spirit and communication skills
* Fluency in French or English (Dutch is a plus)
Internship conditions:
* Internship agreement provided by your school is mandatory
* Duration:
3 to 6 months
* Basic knowledge of English required
