Customs Specialist - EMEA Location: Sint-Niklaas (Hybrid Work Model - 3 days in office) Reports to: Senior Manager, Customs Compliance (EMEA) Why Join Us? Your Impact As a Customs Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our import and export operations meet all legal and business requirements. You'll be part of a high-performing team that supports compliance across multiple regions, with a strong focus on: Customs Compliance: Ensure adherence to customs regulations for shipments from Asia Pacific and Latin America to the EU and UK. Trade Expertise: Apply your knowledge of free trade agreements, product classification, and customs valuation to support smooth operations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, legal) and external stakeholders (e.g., customs authorities, brokers, carriers) to monitor and optimize product flows. Process Improvement: Audit customs documentation flows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Together with other team members support Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) monitoring, internal audits, and harmonization of standard operating procedures. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Economics, Law, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of progressive experience in customs or trade compliance. Strong understanding of customs legislation and operational processes. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex data sets. Fluent in English (written and verbal); additional languages are a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems. Work Environment & Travel Hybrid Work Model: Enjoy the flexibility of working remote for 2 days a week while staying connected with your colleagues across Europe. Travel Expectations: Occasional travel within Europe is required to support audits, team collaboration, and engagement with customs authorities and external partners.
