We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager focused on supervising the entire EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract lifecycle for a major energy project (project end date October 31st, 2026) in Seraing (approx. €500 million oversight).
Key Focus Areas & Impact
* Legal Coordination: Support and be able to replace the LCIM. You are the primary link to our Legal teams and external advisors when legal support is needed, and you manage communication for all disputes.
* Compliance Monitoring: Assist the LCIM, Financial Manager, and Technical Lead to monitor the EPC and workpackage contractors' performance against the obligations outlined in the Financing Contracts and Project Documents.
* Risk Mitigation Leadership: Provide leadership to the project management team, focusing on proactively identifying and mitigating contractual risks during the execution stage.
* Documentation & Procedure: Support the LCIM in developing necessary procedures and templates and ensure all required monitoring documents (reports, risk analysis) are published on the exchange platform.
* Dispute Management: Immediately inform the LCIM of any matters referred to the Disputes Resolution Procedure, assisting in the preparation and presentation of required information.
Your central responsibility is managing the contractual integrity of the EPC and workpackage contracts.
* Contractual Oversight: Manage the contractual aspects and maintain all necessary contacts (oral and written) with contract representatives to ensure all rights and entitlements of the Project are preserved.
* Claims Management: Actively anticipate, manage, coordinate, and follow up on all claims, contract variations, and disputes resulting from contract execution. You will propose arbitration for contractual matters to the LCIM.
* Reporting & Documentation: Work closely with the Claim Manager to support the formal claim management program, assess contract risks, and ensure the timely production and communication of all contract documentation.
* Compliance Schedule: Establish and maintain a schedule listing all contractual obligations, monitoring their proper execution and ensuring associated meetings and minutes are drafted.
* Ethics Advisor: Act as the company compliance and ethics advisor, keeping records and ensuring adherence to standards with shareholders.
* Site Monitoring: Attend site meetings to monitor technical issues, clearly define responsibilities, and enable pragmatic resolution while always preserving the Project's contractual entitlements.
* HSE Culture: Support the Project Team in fostering a proactive Health and Safety culture with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual HSE requirements.
* Commercial Support: Support the Financial Manager, Technical Lead, Project Director, and Site Construction Manager for commercial and contractual matters arising during the project execution.
Required Expertise
* A strong understanding of contract agreements, associated risks, and solid knowledge of legal, financial, and contractual terminology.
* Essential prior experience in contract management in combined cycles (or similar heavy industry/energy projects) and managing relationships with OEM and EPC contractors.
* Fluent in both written and oral French and English. Requires strong negotiation skills and a structured, rigorous approach with keen attention to detail.
* Flexibility: travel to site in Seraing.
