As an Information Security and Data Protection Officer, you will support the CISO and the organization in enhancing the company’s security and privacy posture. Benerail already has an ISO2700x/ISO2770x based framework, but it requires full-time effort to ensure comprehensive implementation, continuous assessment, and improvement to meet the highest maturity levels.
At Benerail, Information Security, Data Protection, and Privacy are combined into a single role. As the officer, you will be central in informing, advising, and supporting various specialized teams and:
* Take control of Benerail’s ISMS under the guidance of the CISO.
* Assist teams with:
- Implementing security policies and measures, designing new policies, and reviewing existing ones.
- Implementing a comprehensive Secure Software Development Lifecycle approach.
* Organize security and privacy awareness training and evaluations.
* Coordinate technical assessments (e.g., penetration testing) and ISO-based evaluations of Benerail’s IT systems.
* Monitor vulnerabilities and exposures, supporting teams in analyzing and mitigating risks.
* Assist in contract management, including the review of new agreements and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
* Report on security and privacy status to senior management.
We are seeking a full-time employee on Benerail’s payroll.
Profiel
We’re looking for a proactive security & privacy expert to help us protect our systems and user data, guiding our teams as we expand across Europe.
You should:
* Be curious, proactive, and challenge assumptions with a focus on data security.
* Have experience or interest in compliance; this is a strong plus.
* Hold a CISM and/or CISSP certification (or equivalent).
* Have extensive experience with ISO2700x and ISO2770x standards and managing ISMS.
* Communicate effectively with analysts and developers, assessing security threats.
* Have hands-on experience with risk management, DPA drafting, and DPIA execution.
* Be capable of reporting to senior management and external stakeholders.
* Be willing to travel regularly (~1 day/week) to our Antwerp office.
* Be fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
