For one of our main clients based in Stockholm - an European Health Institution, we are looking for a Senior Data Manager/Analyst to join our team in the area of health, research and innovation. This organisation helps protect people across Europe from infectious‑disease threats, turning complex data into real‑world impact. You’d be part of a team that values solid data work, practical problem‑solving, and collaboration with experts from all over the continent. It’s a place where your skills genuinely influence public health decisions and improve how countries respond to outbreaks.
The mission is long-term - you can be based anywhere within the European Union and work mostly remotely, however the first month (20 days) must be done onsite in Stockholm, Sweden. You need to be able to work as a freelancer (B2B) basis.
More specifically, you will be responsible for…
* Support routine and ad hoc data collections from EU/EEA Member States, neighbouring countries and other external or internal sources;
* Define, prepare, execute and test data migrations and transformations (historical data migration);
* Ensure proper data governance, integration and storage by maintaining and further developing the surveillance data warehouse and automated data flows;
* Assist data providers with their data preparation, submission and quality issues;
* Ensure data quality is properly defined, documented, analysed and monitored;
* Support client’s experts as well as external requestors by preparing quality datasets according to the requirements;
* Support data analysis and visualisation in close collaboration with the client’s staff, such as disease surveillance experts and fellow data managers;
* Support relevant IT projects by ensuring that data-related requirements are properly defined and implemented;
* Any other tasks related to his/her area of work as requested.

Are you the perfect match?
* BSc/MSc degree - completed;
* You should have at least 5 years of experience in data management/analysis;
* At least 3 years of experience in handling large, complex data sets using SQL;
* At least 3 years of experience in data quality assurance, including data quality analysis and data validation;
* At least 2 years of experience using MS SQL Server;
* Excellent English language proficiency;
* Capability to work effectively in a multicultural environment;
* EU nationality/work permit in your EU country of residence without the support of the company.
It will be nice if you have...
* Experience in data management in infectious diseases, epidemiology or public health domain;
* Provision of external user support through helpdesk;
* Experience in data warehousing (modelling, loading, tuning);
* Experience with ETL tools to create and manage data flows, data migration, data manipulation and aggregation;
* Data manipulation using R, Python, or similar.
