Utilities Project EngineerLocation: Bornem, BelgiumOverviewTo support the Utilities team, we are looking for a Utilities Project Engineer. The Utilities team is responsible for maintenance and improvement of systems within the power plant (steam, chilled water, compressed air, water systems, HVAC, Kathapac air, etc.) and the gel preparation department (process equipment such as mixers, vessels, and water systems).The role combines project engineering and maintenance support, focusing on small-scale technical projects and continuous improvement of utility and process installations.Key Responsibilities1. Project EngineeringLead and support small technical projects across the utilities and process departments. Projects may start from scratch or continue previously initiated work.Project developmentDevelop the functional description and project scopeDesign technical solutions together with the teamPrepare project work packagesWork preparationIdentify required materials and componentsSupport the procurement processEngage and coordinate with contractorsPrepare work permitsProject executionFollow up on technical executionEnsure safety complianceCoordinate on-site activitiesProject completionPrepare documentation for project handoverExamples of projectsReplacement of obsolete machine componentsInstallation of new equipmentPerforming risk analyses together with EH&SDevelopment of preventive maintenance plansCreating spare parts lists for new equipmentReplacement of piping or instrumentationVarious process and utilities improvements2.
